Abstract Botanicals are a series of experiments conducted using a gel plate to create monotypes. The following pieces were selected for their range of textures, layers, contrast, and composition. Other experiments included the viability and stamina of plant material after multiple prints.

Monotype, as known as monoprint, is a form of printmaking that produces only one print of its kind. Here, I am producing prints using a gel plate and plant material from my garden. After the prints dry, sometimes I will go back and embellish select details with colored pencil or ink.
